I had the privilege of taking a FAM (familiarization) bridal experience this past summer on the picturesque Hammock Beach Resort, a Salamander Hotel & Resort, tucked away along the Atlantic Ocean, in Palm Coast, Florida. Because of this opportunity, I can share my personal perspective about this venue as an ideal destination wedding choice.
As you arrive on the property, you will be struck by the beauty: well-maintained vegetation, breathtaking backdrop to blue skies and swaying palms and endless views of Atlantic Ocean.
The FAM was attended by media and wedding planners from across the country. We were warmly greeted and hosted to a gracious hospitality reception—the beginning of what would soon be a spectacular four-day experience.
On our first day, we were treated to a mock reception and rehearsal dinner at their Lodge Tent and Lawn showcasing golf and ocean views at the beach resort. The various action stations, carving boards, open bar, and live music was impressive creating an inviting relaxed atmosphere among a group of professionals who in most cases had never met.
The next morning, we began our day with breakfast on the Ocean Bar Event Lawn before our planned day full of adventure. Following breakfast, we were transported to the local Marineland, the world’s first oceanarium, where we were given a tour and dolphin training interactive activities. A trip to Marineland is ideal entertainment for wedding guests and a rehearsal dinner would be a memorable occasion especially time with the dolphins who like to play and enjoy the attention.
Upon returning to the resort, we were treated to a “shore-to-table” cuisine at the Atlantic Grille restaurant with ocean views and served superb plated entrees that included soup or salad, the Chef’s special prepared hors d’ oeuvres and freshly baked bread.
Later in the day, we were pampered with a luxurious Swedish massage and facials provided by make-up artists from The Spa in a multi-bedroom suite. Food included small bites and a Sangria bar prepared by the Chef. Following this experience, we dressed in our formal attire and headed out to view a mock ceremony set-up and walkthrough at the Grand Event Lawn. The most notable were the guest Plexiglass chairs adorned with bouquets of white roses—they were gorgeous!!! After viewing the ceremony set-up, we headed over to a cocktail hour held at the newly renovated Atlantic Ballroom featuring high ceilings, wrought iron chandeliers, neutral colors and mahogany moldings creating a formal but relaxed setting for your guests. Should the weather not hold up for an outside ceremony on the day of your wedding, then there is ample space outside the ballroom against large windows that allow lots of sunlight sure to foster a beautiful intimate setting.
Have golfers attending your wedding? Not to worry, there is plenty of golf. Two immaculate golf courses have been hosted to PGA Tour events and tout some of the highest rankings in the state by Golf Magazine, Golf Week and Golf Digest. Designed by legends of the game (Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson), each course offers a distinctive style of play surrounded by spectacular views of the natural landscape.
Later in the day, we set off to visit the Conservatory Clubhouse within the Hammock Beach Resort overlooking golf greens, waterfalls, brooks, stone bulk heading. The glass-domed clubhouse with an interior West Indies flair is so eye appealing and classy–sure to impress your guests as an alternative for either an intimate beach front wedding or rehearsal dinner. We were treated to a cocktail hour along with hand- passed hors d’ oeuvres reception and dined sufficiently on a three -course meal.
The service and decor were impeccable! This made for an unforgettable Jewel Destination at the Hammock Beach Resort, Palm Coast, Florida.
